Private Sector Case Study - A large multi-national company
The Problem
A reprographics and print specialist employing over 15,000 people has manufacturing sites in three countries. It markets and sells products and offers after-sales services through a supply chain covering the whole of Europe. Training and development is a high priority, reflected in the generous budget allocation for both employees and suppliers. As with all large companies, 'quality' is an issue in an increasingly competitive market and investment in training has to generate returns in terms of improved bottom line performance. The company is going through a major re-organisation and Management of Change programme.
The Solution
We focused the company on their strategic direction, identifying developmental and funding opportunities to support their business priorities. The pan- European operations provided the opportunity to draw down additional funding and participate in various projects developing communication and quality. We advised on evaluation techniques linked to work roles, job competencies and occupational standards to ensure training and development supported both the business plan and the individuals delivering its priorities. We also helped the company source appropriately skilled people to meet their recruitment needs through engaging with public sector initiatives. This work positioned them favourably for benefiting from external funding opportunities to enhance their core training and development budget.
